10/17: Altars for Everyday Life: Cultivating Urban Allies
Altars create a physical place for the sacred to live with us in our
daily lives. The physical objects, or power objects, on our altars
give specific energies a home so that we can work with them each day.
Thus a "working altar" allows us to engage with the sacred with focus
and on purpose. Through our altar practice we call in the life we
want to live in and work directly with spirit to co-create personal
protection, direction for our spiritual growth, and the manifestation
of our desired future.
This evening we will explore the structure of an effective altar for
transformation in a contemporary world. Altar structures vary with
purpose, tradition, and personal preference, but the most important
thing remains universal. The altar must work. As we explore efficacy
with working altars we will keep in mind that when they truly work an
altar is a threshold between the worlds.
Please bring a journal and pen, scarf or something to cover the eyes,
rattle (can be beans in a vitamin bottle) or drum, and a small sacred
items for the altar.
10/18-19: Urban Allies: Shamanic Solutions for the Challenges of City
Life
City life comes with unique opportunities and challenges. One of the
great mysteries of urban life is how to continually rebalance
resources and time to deal with stress, anxiety, fatigue, and the
little addictions that help us cope. Shamanism, with its blend of
spirit inspiration and crazy logic with human cleverness and
intelligence, is uniquely suited to solve that mystery.
In this weekend you will cultivate three shamanic allies who can help
you to get out of your own way. Through the ally Shadow you will
gain access to the root of your habits, addictions and those annoying
patterns that keep you from manifesting your true excellence. This
ally is particularly effective in helping you to manifest your dreams
in ways your therapist would never imagine.
Through the Void you gain an ally to deal with stress, tension, and
anxiety. This ally gives you the strength to see though your own
illusions and reach into the heart of your fear. There you can
distill the lesson it brings about love. Applied this is your unique
medicine for stress.
Through Darkness you gain access to that which restores and
replenishes all things. With this ally you will learn to live
without fatigue by cultivating the actions of deep self-care and self-
love that still fit into a busy, urban day. This includes a 5-stance
form of ancient chi gong that can be practiced 20-minutes daily to
revitalize your procreative chi.
The relationships with these allies, once cultivated, are yours to
use for a lifetime. They are here to help you to express your
authenticity, heart, and power. The practices offered this weekend
can be repeated again and again in your everyday life to restore
balance and well-being to your life.
While these topics are often assumed to be scary or "a lot of work."
The use of shamanic tools renders this work deep AND exciting, funny,
and joyful. This workshop is dynamic, filled with humor and
Tricksters, and ultimately, a reunion with Self.
Please bring a journal and pen, scarf or something to cover the eyes,
rattle (can be beans in a vitamin bottle) or drum, and a small sacred
item for the altar. Please dress comfortably for moving and lying on
the floor.

The Mastery Classes III: Interpreting Symbolic Language
All communication with spirit is interpreted truth. We all have
access, but no one of us has absolute access to absolute truth.
Instead we must learn to interpret our symbolic language in our night
time dreams and our shamanic journeys to get guidance from spirit.
Your symbolic language is both unique to you and universal. Come
learn how the nature of your relationship with the universe can
clarify or completely obscure your guidance from spirit...and what
to do about it!
Each class stands alone, but the series builds the foundation. Come to one or all.
